![]() ![]() For that reason, I opted not to make AI features a strict requirement (for now!), and I've still included apps that don't offer AI. While many apps now offer AI features in one way or another, I found many of these features to be lacking still-they're often slow, struggle to pull in relevant imagery, and yield wildly inconsistent designs. For our purposes here, I only tested software that uses slides, with the familiar deck-based editor you expect from a "presentation" tool (versus, for example, a video creation app). There's no reason to use multiple tools when one can do it all, so I didn't test any apps that require and work on top of another presentation app like PowerPoint or Google Slides.įamiliar, deck-based UI. With capable free tools on the market, affordability is a top consideration. Creating compelling presentations is important, but you shouldn't have to bust your budget to make it happen. Templates are great, but top presentation apps should enable you to customize just about everything-giving you the flexibility to build exactly what you need.Īffordability. Whether you plan to share your webinar slides later, or you just want to collaborate with a coworker on a presentation, it should be easy to share files and collaborate in real-time.įlexibility and customization options. The best presentation tools should have attractive, professional-looking templates to build presentations in a hurry. With that in mind, here's what I was looking for: After all, slideshows are used for just about everything, from pitch decks and product launches to class lectures and church sermons. When looking for the best presentation apps, I wanted utility players. For more details on our process, read the full rundown of how we select apps to feature on the Zapier blog. We're never paid for placement in our articles from any app or for links to any site-we value the trust readers put in us to offer authentic evaluations of the categories and apps we review. We spend dozens of hours researching and testing apps, using each app as it's intended to be used and evaluating it against the criteria we set for the category. I can Preview that and you can see I get kind of a route drawn out that way which might be a useful effect during a presentation or of course you can export this as video to use this as part of some sort of video that you are creating as well. All of our best apps roundups are written by humans who've spent much of their careers using, testing, and writing about software. ![]() Now I can easily animate that using that same Line Draw effect and setting its properties. Now that I've got this line here I can actually make it look a little bit better by changing its color. I'm going to just select points on there to illustrate, perhaps, a route. onto it and I'm going to create a shape now. I created a second slide here and I dragged an image of a map of the U.S. I'm going to do no acceleration so it kind of draws like that very evenly. I can also change the acceleration so now it accelerates a little bit. I can change it from start to end, to end to start or middle to end which is kind of neat. So you can see now that I've got that going and I saw the preview and there are certain things that I can change about it.įor instance, I could slow it down and you can see it gets really slow there. So I have a line selected so my draw will appear but it won't appear there for other objects. Notice that, by the way, these effects the list changes depending upon what you have selected. Now you will see a preview of it right away. So I can assign this to Build In and I'm going to click Add Effect and then go all the way down here to Special Effects and select Line Draw. So now with this shape selected I want to make sure I select Animate here and I have Build In, Action, and Build Out. When I'm done I'm going to hit Escape and now I've got a spiral shape that I can apply the effect to. I can very quickly create a spiral to use as an example. So I'm going to click and then drag and then continue to click and drag to create a series of curves. I just have a blank slide here that I've created in a new presentation. So I'm going to go to Shape here and I'm going to use Draw with Pen. To use Line Draw, of course, you want to start with a line. I'm using version 6.6.1 so make sure you are up to date. So Line Draw has recently been added to Keynote. On today's episode let me show you how to use the new Line Draw feature in Keynote. Video Transcript: Hi, this is Gary with.
